Left-Handed Gardening Tools
Left-handed people have adjusted to the lifestyle of the right-handed people and use the tools and other items used by the right-handers. However, there are a number of gardening tools designed for left-handers are available now.
Some of the available tools are Secateurs, sickle, scythe, Craft knife with left-handed locking blade, Craft knife with left-handed retractable blade, Tough cut shears, Lawn edging shears, pruning shear with revolving handle, pruning shear, and so on.
The secateurs and the cutting tools specially made for the left-handed people would give a garden a new life and look. Secateurs blades are of two types: anvil and bypass. The bypass secateurs, suitable for left-handed people are so designed that with the blades reversed, and sharp, with the comfortably positioned handgrips, they give a clean cut to the lower parts of the plant.
In the scythe, the blade arch is reversed so that it allows a steady, rhythmic action while cutting with the left hand. In the sickle, the reverse edge is sharpened. This allows the left-handed person to mow the overgrown lawn with left-to-right movement.
